+44 (0) 1554 740 500 Lighting Technology Projects has supplied and installed a stunning architectural lighting scheme on the iconic Sidings Bridge near Swansea.
The team were invited to provide a striking solution for the contemporary construction by Swansea Council, who had been impressed by LTP’s previous illumination work on the London Eye and other bridge schemes including the Millennium Footbridge.
Achieving a precise and intricate effect that highlighted the mast and stays, We-EF 35 Watt HIT 110 degree “eyelid” in-ground luminaires were selected as the principal fixtures for the deck lighting, whilst Encapsulite MT50 21w 990mm units were chosen to emphasise the handrails and steel wire supports.
The mast itself was supplied with white Francis LH230 parallel beam luminaires, with the base of the individual cables receiving a subtle glow through white Concord Marlin 20 watt discharge Michrotechno spots.
LTP was additionally asked to illuminate the underbelly of the bridge and specified Color Kinetics ColorBlast 12 RGB LED fixtures for their long-life, low maintenance appeal. To complete the installation, an LED source aviation beacon was provided to the top of the mast
