Lighting Technology Projects has completed the addition of a wireless lighting control solution to Pont y Ddraig in Rhyl.

The new 60m pedestrian and cycle bridge, which spans over the River Clwyd at Rhyl Harbour, received an energy-efficient task lighting scheme last year.

LTP successfully delivered bridge deck illumination to satisfy lighting levels as per BS EN13201-2 2003 to a luminance of level S3 or higher, while providing the required longevity of operation in the hostile saltwater environment.

We recently returned to integrate a wireless control system in the harbourmaster’s office, which offers the ability to select from numerous pre-programmed effects.

Pont y Ddraig (Dragon’s Bridge) was named by Rhyl youngster Leon Jones following a competition amongst local schools, and was officially opened by Welsh former World and Paralympic cycling champion Mark Colbourne MBE.

Construction giants Dawnus invited LTP to integrate the LED lighting solutions following a recommendation from Andrew Marginson of Ramboll, due to LTP’s efforts on the award winning Jarrold Footbridge in Norwich.
