Energy-saving lighting for Cadw monuments

Lighting Technology Projects has completed the installation of a carbon conscious lighting scheme at eight Cadw monument sites in South Wales.

Requested by Philips SSL, LTP designed, specified and integrated energy-efficient architectural solutions at Tintern Abbey, Chepstow Castle, Caerphilly Castle, Castell Coch, Coity Castle, Llansteffan Castle, Kidwelly Castle and Swansea Castle.

Replacing the existing sodium luminaires, which were both expensive to run and maintain, the historic landmarks were provided with cost-effective and discrete Philips eW Reach Powercore fixtures that elegantly illuminate the facades with white light.

Impressed with the outcome, Philips’ Project Manager added: “LTP has been superb, bringing extensive local knowledge, history and other invaluable bonuses to the table.”
