Situated in the heart of the City of London, 110 Fetter Lane, formerly known as Rolls & Arnold House, was refurbished by property developer Delancey as part of a multi-million-pound redevelopment of the ageing commercial offices. This impressive 11-storey building once housed the international headquarters for auditors Ernest & Young, and following the refurbishment was occupied by The Royal Courts of Justice and a leading offshore bank.
LTP Integration was invited to install a striking media wall feature with integrated solid state lighting to form a visual centrepiece in the foyer of the building. Our team was tasked with providing specialist audio-visual and integration services for both the video wall and a surrounding scenic lighting ‘frame’, which is prominent in the reception area of the building.
LTP Integration specified Philips SSL Flex MX nodes, complete with frosted shallow lenses, to backlight and diffuse the light evenly across the surface area of the Makrolon frame, effectively creating a light box. This surrounds the nine 46″ LCD video screens offset to the right of the feature wall.
For the video, nine ultra-thin bezel screens were selected so that they could be offered together with minimal gaps, and were installed in a 3×3 format to a brief from Richard Palmer of Delancey.
The RGB LED nodes were set to 160mm pitch, six nodes high and 50 wide, spreading across the back board of each element of the light box.
The Flex MX nodes enable the panels and therefore the entire eight metre long by three metre tall media wall to colour change as required; bringing a dynamic, kinetic, mood-enhancing feel to the space. The stylish reception area was designed by reputable architects Woods Bagot, and also features a prominent, polished anthracite reception desk.
For control of the Flex MX, LTP Integration specified the Philips SSL Light System Engine (LSE), an Ethernet-based controller which gives the additional flexibility of being able to generate low-resolution effects across the wall. These effects include sparkles, swirls, droplets and twinkles, along with colour flows/swipes, rainbows and an assortment of other animated styles that use PNG slides, running at up to 50 frames per second.
The high-resolution LCD video screens are driven by a C-nario advertiser system also specified by LTP Integration, delivering easily updatable custom content and live RF feeds (e.g. Sky TV) across the nine screens, either as nine individual images or one large one.
Using their industry expertise, LTP Integration successfully installed a striking visual centrepiece, instantly enhancing the building’s reception area.
