LTP Integration has illuminated Rhyl’s 76-metre tall Sky Tower as part of an impressive regeneration project in the Welsh seaside resort.

Appointed as specialist integrators by manufacturers Anolis UK (whose architectural lighting products had been specified), our team overcame multiple installation challenges.

Unable to fix directly to the structure, stainless steel rings were designed and manufactured, to which the Anolis fittings were rigged.

A mobile elevated work platform and harnessing equipment were utilised for the external installation.

Because of the considerable cable lengths involved, control equipment also had to be housed in waterproof enclosures inside the Sky Tower.

Internal space restrictions, including counter weights and a narrow ladder, made this installation particularly challenging.

Andy Hughes, lighting consultant and advisor for Denbighshire County Council was very happy with the completed project: “My colleagues and I are all very proud to be involved in the regeneration project, and it’s inspirational to see lighting features become a big part of the town, in turn attracting people and encouraging commercial enterprise and activity.”
