LTP Integration was commissioned by award winning bridge constructors Beaver Bridges Ltd, who coordinated the construction and delivery of Ive Farm Bridge. The new structure is a functional addition to the wider regeneration scheme for the Leyton and Lea Bridge areas.

This marked the first time LTP Integration had collaborated with Beaver Bridges.

Beaver Bridges provide a turnkey bridge building service throughout the UK and Europe, with an experienced team of fully qualified transporters, erectors, designers and engineers.

They work with a wide range of clients; from the biggest government agencies and multinational construction firms right through to private land owners, farmers, forestry companies and industry, to provide the correct solutions to meet their needs.

LTP Integration was appointed by Beaver Bridges to devise a bespoke architectural lighting scheme for this 15 metre single span footbridge in the London Borough of Waltham Forest.

Design, off-site manufacture and installation of the structure were previously completed by JB Riney & Co Ltd of Solihull.

The bridge spans a tributary of the River Lea, providing easy access for cyclists and pedestrians over the waterway and a route through to the newly developed Leyton sports complex.

The challenge on this particular contract was to provide a slimline linear LED solution that met the stringent criteria required in public realm spaces, in respect of offering the necessary IK and IP ratings.

The solution had to be integrated within the anti-climb cowling on either side of the bridge, while conforming to the relevant British Standard for the illumination of bridges, ramps and steps.

LTP Integration modified an existing handrail luminaire, using the light engine from this fixture and integrating it into a new 45-degree slimline profile.

Our scope of works also involved the provision of full lighting design and technical specification details for the client using this new product, including system schematics, general arrangement plans plus the necessary Relux lighting plots indicating the required performance.

The solution was successfully approved for use in this application by the client and was successfully installed, greatly exceeding expectations in its performance delivery.

LTP Integration’s design worked perfectly as a practical solution. Its discrete nature fitted the aesthetic, worked with the environment, and was fully integrated within the architecture of the bridge.

Collaborating closely with Beaver Bridges from the early stages and throughout the installation and handover phases translated to an excellent project delivery.
