LTP Integration has delivered a bespoke architectural lighting solution to the visitor footbridge at Harlech Castle, which has been awarded a RICS Wales award for Tourism and Leisure.

LTP Integration is delighted that its architectural lighting services to a new footbridge at Harlech Castle have contributed to the tourist attraction winning a RICS Wales Award.

RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) is the world’s leading professional body for qualifications and standards in land, property, infrastructure and construction.

The 13th century medieval fortification in Gwynedd, North Wales was nominated by Cadw and the Welsh Government. It fought off fierce competition from several other venues across the country to take the prize in the Tourism & Leisure category. The award comes following the construction of a new visitor centre and 30 metre steel footbridge.

Working alongside main contractor RLD Construction and specialist subcontractor SH Structures, LTP was responsible for designing, manufacturing and integrating a bespoke IP67 rated light fitting for the bridge. The bridge lighting is controlled via e:cue’s LAS Enterprise software and can be operated via a dedicated PC, smartphone or iPad – offering simple and intuitive day-to-day management.

Contract Manager at RLD Construction, Mike Saddington said: “The outcome of the lighting has far exceeded our expectations and offers the site an additional attraction to increase interest in this historic landmark.”
